How to use IDPodcasts.net
IDPodcasts.net contains a series of lectures presented by the staff, faculty, or affiliated guests of the Division of Infectious Diseases of the University of South Florida. The latest posted lectures are presented on the main page. A link to previous archived lectures also appears on the main page. To access an individual presentation on the main page, please click on the “More” text to the description to bring up the main page for that lecture. For each video podcast, a playback video window will display above the description of the talk and its author. Depending on the speed of your internet connection, it may take between a few seconds and a couple of minutes for the lecture and text to load. When a sufficient amount of the file has been downloaded, it will begin playing automatically. In order to receive the streaming webcasts, please make sure your computer has the following:
1. A sound card and speakers or headphones
2. An internet connection and standard web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari)
3. the Quicktime plug-in (A link appears on the main page - it’s a free download)
When the lecture is completed, click time Main Page button to listen to other webcasts.

How to download content as a podcast:
1.Download and install software suitable for receiving podcasts. We recommend Apple’s iTunes software. A link also appears on the main page.
2.Hit the “subscribe” button in the upper left hand corner of the main page. The podcast will be automatically appear in the podcast section of iTunes and all available lectures will begin downloading immediately. Once they are downloaded, they are playable through your Mp3/Mp4 player software. For Apple’s Ipod, follow instructions with the iTunes software for selecting the lectures for download to your player. Once downloaded, they can be viewed “on the go” on your 5th generation Ipod or Iphone.
3.We are in the process of converting select lectures to mp3 files for those users with IPod Nano or other non-video mp3 players. An option for downloading the mp3 only file when available will be located in the text box below the video window. To play the file through the browser, click on the link. To save to your computer, right click the link and select, “save as...” and save to the appropriate location on your computer. The audio file can then be downloaded to your mp3 player once added to Itunes or other similar software.
Please be patient!!! Depending on your internet connection, streaming podcasts may sometimes take a couple of minutes to load before they play on your computer.
